Music and theatre have always been a part of Bec's life. Raised in North Jersey, they had the entire librettos of The Sound of Music, South Pacific, and Oklahoma! committed to memory by age four, including fully-choreographed renditions of their favorite numbers. At the age of five, Bec taught themself how to play the piano and read music. Once in school, Bec immediately began performing onstage, singing in choirs and playing in the school band. 

 

When Bec was thirteen, they had the opportunity to attend French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts. The program provided full immersion in theatrical productions, introducing Bec to the technical side of theatre. They returned five times to French Woods, three times as a camper and twice as a counselor in the Music Department. They built on what they learned during those summers by keeping one toe on each side of the footlights throughout high school and early college.

Bec attended Nazareth College where they earned a BA in Theatre Arts with a Minor in Music. Though they initially sought a degree in Music Education, Bec soon found that their high school passion for theatre could not be ignored. Bec found in stage management a thrilling parallel to their own natural mental processes, and easily adapted to the stage manager's dual roles of production analysis and anticipation of the needs of their colleagues.

A resident of New York City since 2010 and a member of Actors' Equity Association and AGMA (American Guild of Musical Artists), they now work on plays, musicals, dance, and opera, including many new works.

 

Beyond theatrical productions, Bec also uses their organizational skillset to prep and run various events from weddings to non-profit galas to university commencement ceremonies. In 2018, Bec began working on corporate events, including virtual events as the industry adapted during 2020 and beyond. An adept show caller and deck manager, they have worked on projects across the country. During the pandemic shutdown of 2020, Bec found a home working on virtual corporate conferences, quickly being promoted to a department manager role for a brief tenure before returning to the freelance world.

Bec freelances across the country, having worked with companies in New York, California, New Jersey, South Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, and Colorado. They have also toured throughout the US and Canada, as well as to Daegu, South Korea.

Bec is proud to have worked on numerous events and fundraisers with Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS, including Broadway Bares (fourteen years and counting!), Easter Bonnets, Broadway Backwards, and The Broadway Flea Market.
